Christmas cards complete....

I've made them, photographed them and they're now for sale in my shop...

Now I'm going to turn my attention to printing some place mats. I have a couple of orders. I meant to get stuck into some printing yesterday (Saturday), but the energy and the will were lacking :)

I had a lovely day off instead. I did some gardening in my vegetable patch and had a lovely visit by friend and her gorgeous baby. We sat in the sun while her baby played on the grass in front of us...and got more and more relaxed. A perfect Saturday really.

My friend also brought around some a pile of books, one of which is 'French Country Living" by Caroline Clifton-Mogg. It's 10 years since it was first published, but really it hasn't dated. I ended up reading it last night and feeling so inspired by the gorgeously subtle color palette used in the homes that were featured.
Love, love, love!
Makes me want to print in soft aquas, blues and earthy pinks...make cushions, print on gorgeous cottons and linens...

I hope you had a relaxing weekend...with perhaps a little something added that has left you feeling inspired too?

100 days of doodling....

A couple of days ago, a friend of mine told me about a website where people commit to doing ...something....

...sketching...photography....painting....writing....

...each day for 100 days.

Unfortunately, that particular 100 day project has closed and the people on it are up to day 34 already, so I've decided to do my own version.

What I want to do ...for 100 days...is get out my black ink pen and draw...something...everyday for 100 days.

doodle #1
I'm often having a little whinge to myself that I don't do enough drawing and designing...so...

here goes...

It feels exciting...and who knows what new fabric designs may come out of it? But I don't really want to have too many goals or set directions. I'll just see where it goes....

My friend Terri is joining me in this challenge!

How about you? interested??

P.S. Take a look the page I have created called 100 days of doodling to see all the doodles I have done so far.

Printing on hessian...

Here's a few samples of  the new placemats and coasters I've been developing over the past couple of weeks.
The designs are printed on hessian and the edges zig-zagged  to stop fraying. They're fun to make and I have a few more designs too that I'll show you in a day or two as I complete them.
These ones have a nice, relaxed summer vibe. I hope you like them.

So, now that I've figured out the designs it won't be long till I have some in my online shop.

I'm back ...on track...

Hello, it's been a while!
Life got a bit hectic there for a while, caring for elderly parents, one of whom is very ill. So of course it still is really busy, but new routines have emerged to cope with it all.
And I have taken a few days off during the past month and being rested helps a lot too. I got a bit too tired toward the end of last year and that wasn't much fun. But sometimes those bad times can instigate some good changes. It certainly has this time. I feel like I have strengthened my boundaries regarding my social life and prioritized eating well and getting enough sleep. Already I am feeling huge benefits. The challenge will be to keep these good things going! But I'm feeling determined and optimistic.
As part of an effort to bring more balance to my life I am now trying to limit my gardening business to mornings only. That means I have more flexibility to help my parents. And when I'm not required I'm going to use the time to put more time and energy i…
