And tonights task is....

....sticking stickers and bands on my coaster sets! Next step delivery!

I have screen printed four different designs into wooden coasters. I then apply four coats of varnish and back each coaster with felt.

While I have been working this evening I have been thinking about selling online. I just have a couple more orders to complete...then I'm going to start working towards having an online shop linked to this blog.

Right now I am just enjoying dreaming of the various products I'd like to make. I don't think it would be fair to sell the same products online that I sell to stores. So I'll need to have a new range.

As I am doing this part time it may take me a while to get from the design to the selling on line stage. So I have been a bit hesitant even mentioning it tonight in case it takes me so long to do it you start to think I never will! Hmm! The risks of blogging ones thoughts!?

But I love having a new project! And lately I have been discovering that doing a little bit of work...often...adds up...eventually....to achieving quite a bit. ....eventually being the key word here!

Well, it's time to turn off the computer for the night.

Happy dreaming!

From my kitchen table....

Hi, for the past few weeks I've been very quiet on the blog front.

I've had quite a few orders to make and have been working away, printing, gluing, cutting...
I have been making coasters, placemats and fabric covered cards. I've not quite finished all that I need to do, but a few more evenings should see me at the delivery and posting stage.

At times it seems to take me a frustrating amount of time to complete an order, as Jill Butler Design is my part time business and most of my work is done in the evenings and weekends. But time-frustration apart, I have been really enjoying the work...just getting down and making things.

Winter has been taking hold around here in the past couple of weeks and though I have a lovely studio, the temptation of working at my kitchen table has been too strong! After dinner, it is just too hard to leave the warmth and cosiness of my house and go to work in my as yet un-warmed studio. But it is more than that.

Perhaps I just need to buy a better heater for my studio and do something to stop that draft coming under the door. Hmmm....but there's still something about working at my kitchen table. Do you know what I mean?
regards, Jill
